Next-generation EG-840T and EG-840TP gastroscopes provide exceptional versatility and visualization for upper GI procedures
Lexington, MA, April 30, 2025 – FUJIFILM Healthcare Americas Corporation, a leading provider of endoscopic imaging and endosurgical solutions, today announced the commercialization of the EG-840T treatment gastroscope and the EG-840TP slim treatment gastroscope. The gastroscopes are part of Fujifilm’s next-generation 800 series portfolio and are powered by Fujifilm’s ELUXEO® Endoscopic Imaging System, which features LED multi-light technology for enhanced visualization. Both gastroscopes will be publicly demonstrated for the first time at the 2025 Digestive Disease Week (DDW®) annual conference and exhibition in booth 4729, held May 4-6 in San Diego.
“Fujifilm is fueled by its passion to advance patient care, and is committed to constantly innovating our leading-edge endoscopic solutions to meet our provider partners’ needs,” says Tai Fujita, vice president, Endoscopy Division, FUJIFILM Healthcare Americas Corporation. “We’re looking forward to spending time with industry leaders at DDW to demonstrate how our next generation 800 line of gastroscopes delivers exceptional performance and unmatched visualization for even the most complex upper gastrointestinal (GI) procedures.”
All of Fujifilm’s ELUXEO 800 Series endoscope models, including the EG-840T and EG-840TP, are equipped with intelligent CMOS Image Sensor technology for brilliantly clear HD White Light along with Image Enhanced Endoscopy (IEE) modes Linked Color Imaging (LCI®) and Blue Light Imaging (BLI). Both imaging modes offer enhanced visualization and characterization of gastrointestinal lesions, improving detection rates and diagnosis accuracy.
The Fujifilm EG-840T treatment gastroscope is designed to help expand therapeutic capabilities while also offering versatility for use during routine upper GI procedures. The EG-840T is engineered for stable control in larger lumens and features an ample 3.2mm working channel to accommodate a range of therapeutic devices while delivering strong suction performance throughout complex procedures. Precise control of the distal end is possible even in the most challenging treatment areas with the reliable retroflex performance (210° up) and increased downward angulation (160°).
The Fujifilm EG-840TP slim treatment gastroscope is designed to support emerging procedural techniques in the treatment of upper GI conditions, especially in narrow lumens when navigating strictures or when tunneling in submucosal space. Featuring a slim 7.9mm outer diameter, ample 3.2mm working channel, expanded angulation (210° up / 160° down), and a water jet, the Fujifilm EG-840TP is a novel gastroscope designed to expand therapeutic capabilities in upper GI endoscopy while also offering versatility for use in routine procedures.
“E-POEM and Z-POEM procedures present unique technical challenges due to the confined working space,” said Kenneth Chang, M.D., the James & Pamela Muzzy Executive Medical Director Endowed Chair in GI Cancer at Hoag’s Digestive Health Institute in California. “The Fujifilm 800 Series slim treatment gastroscope affords greater ease and access in these spaces, while also maintaining high image quality and light modes. When these features combine with its larger working channel and exceptional maneuverability, this gastroscope becomes an important resource for endoscopists.”
Two recognized industry leaders will present real-world application of the latest 800 Series Gastroscopes in booth #4729 at the upcoming DDW conference, including:
