At this year’s Digestive Disease Week (DDW) 2025 in San Diego, Fujifilm’s Endoscopy Division had the privilege of sharing our latest innovations in endoscopic imaging and technology with the global GI community. I couldn’t be prouder of our team and partners who helped make this an incredible showcase of what’s next in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy.

Read on to learn more about the latest products that are set to redefine endoscopic care.

An Interactive Event Engaging Current and Prospective Endoscopy Fellows

For the first time, we introduced three cutting-edge gastroscopes from Fujifilm’s 800 Series portfolio to the U.S. GI market:

  • EN-840T Double Balloon Enteroscopy Scope: This award-winning scope is designed for deep small bowel access with improved maneuverability and image clarity, helping clinicians reach and treat areas of the small intestine more effectively. It is used to diagnose and treat a wide array of small intestine diseases, gastrointestinal bleeding, and small bowel polyps. The MedTech Breakthrough Awards program recently named the EN-840T global winner of the “Best New Technology Solution – Endoscopy” award.
  • EG-840T Treatment Gastroscope: The EG-840T is designed to help expand therapeutic capabilities while also offering versatility for use during routine upper GI procedures. The EG-840T is engineered for stable control in larger lumens and features an ample 3.2mm working channel to accommodate a range of therapeutic devices while delivering strong suction performance throughout complex procedures. Precise control of the distal end is possible even in the most challenging treatment areas.
  • EG-840TP Slim Treatment Gastroscope: The EG-840TP is designed to support emerging procedural techniques in the treatment of upper GI conditions, especially in narrow lumens when navigating strictures or when tunneling in the submucosal space. Featuring a slim 7.9mm outer diameter, ample 3.2mm working channel, expanded angulation, and a water jet, this gastroscope is designed to expand therapeutic capabilities in upper GI endoscopy while also offering versatility for use in routine procedures.

We received overwhelmingly positive feedback on the performance and design of these devices, which reinforces our commitment to continuous innovation in endoscopy.

Clinical Leadership

Dr. Jennifer Phan, Medical Director of the Hoag Advanced Endoscopy Institute

Throughout the conference, we were honored to host several renowned physicians at our booth. Their live presentations and discussions provided insightful perspectives on the practical applications of advanced endoscopic tools and techniques. From complex cases to emerging procedures, our TECH Talks drew standing-room-only crowds and sparked meaningful conversations across the GI community. Some highlights include:

  • Dr. Joo Ha Hwang, Professor at Stanford University School of Medicine, kicked off DDW 2025 by presenting a case highlighting Fujifilm’s next-generation EG-840T and EG-840TP gastroscopes. Dr. Hwang shared real-time examples utilizing the technology for POEM techniques and discussed how these scopes provide exceptional versatility and visualization.
  • Dr. Daniel von Renteln, Director of Research – Gastroenterology at the University of Montreal Health Centre, shared how Fujifilm’s SCALE EYE® is shown to improve accuracy and speed of measurement compared to traditional methods and how Fujifilm’s CAD EYE® enables real-time detection of colonic mucosal lesions such as polyps and adenomas during colonoscopy procedures.
  • Dr. Phillip Ge, Associate Professor at MD Anderson Cancer Center, utilized Fujifilm’s 840T and 840TP therapeutic gastroscopes in a live demonstration and spoke to the technology’s high-quality imaging, superior retroflexion, and the ability to work in narrow spaces.
  • Dr. Jennifer Phan, Medical Director of the Hoag Advanced Endoscopy Institute, discussed primary bariatric endoscopy surgeries, potential complications, solutions, techniques and the role Fujifilm’s portfolio, including the ARIETTA 850 EUS Processor and 700 Series Linear Scope, plays in these procedures. She concluded her TECH Talk with a live ESG using Fujifilm’s EI-740D/S dual-channel endoscope.
  • Dr. Andrew C. Storm, Chair of Endoscopy at the Mayo Clinic, presented three different cases using Fujifilm’s EG-740UT scope. During his Tech Talk, he highlighted how this technology offers a variety of excellent channel access and usability features including excellent camera view, a large 4.0mm working channel, and Fujifilm G-Lock Plus elevator locking mechanism.

From emerging and insightful presentations delivered by leading endoscopists, to countless meaningful conversations with attendees and fellow endoscopy professionals, our team had a wonderful time demonstrating how Fujifilm’s state-of-the-art portfolio is redefining endoscopic care.
